How to Pay UGC Creators in Latin America
Compare Wise, Payoneer, and platform payouts for brands paying LATAM creators
A complete 2026 guide to paying UGC creators in Latin America: Wise, Payoneer, wire transfers, and platform payments compared.
Why Cross-Border Creator Payments Are Complicated in LATAM
Paying UGC creators across Latin America is not a single problem β it is nineteen. Each country has its own currency (MXN, BRL, COP, ARS, CLP, PEN and more), its own banking rails, and its own tax rules. Brazil settles instantly through PIX. Mexico runs on SPEI. Argentina enforces strict currency controls that block most foreign-currency inflows to personal accounts. For a brand outside the region, sending a $120 payment to a creator in Buenos Aires is not the same operation as sending $120 to a creator in SΓ£o Paulo or Guadalajara.
The result: brands either overpay in fees, miss deadlines because a wire bounced, or give up and only work with creators in two or three countries. None of those outcomes is good for a campaign that depends on local authenticity.
Payment Options for Paying LATAM Creators
Wise (formerly TransferWise)
Wise covers most LATAM countries and converts USD to local currency close to the mid-market rate. Fees usually land between 0.5% and 2%. The creator needs a Wise account in their own name, which most professional creators already have. Wise is a strong fit for one-off payments and small recurring sends.
Payoneer
Payoneer is the most established option for LATAM freelancers β a large share of creators already hold an account, especially in Argentina, Colombia and Venezuela where local USD access is limited. It supports mass payouts, which matters when you are paying ten creators on the same campaign. Fees sit between 1% and 3%.
Direct Wire Transfer
Bank-to-bank international wires work everywhere but are the worst option for small amounts: $15β$40 per transfer, 3β5 business day settlement, and intermediate bank deductions that often leave the creator short. Reserve wires for single payments above roughly $1,000.
Through a LATAM Creator Platform (Like UGC LATAM)
For brands running more than one campaign, the simplest model is to pay the platform in USD and let the platform handle local disbursement in each creator''s currency. UGC LATAM consolidates payouts across all 19 markets, manages local tax compliance, and removes the need to onboard creators to a payment processor before they can be paid. No per-country payment account setup. No FX surprises on the invoice.

- Mid-tier (100Kβ500K): $300β$700 per video

Tax and Compliance
Creators are almost always independent contractors in LATAM, not employees. For US-based brands, the cleanest paper trail is a W-8BEN equivalent on file before the first payment, plus a clear scope-of-work in the campaign brief. If you work through UGC LATAM, the platform collects the right tax documentation per country and issues a single consolidated invoice in USD, which removes the per-creator compliance overhead.
The Easiest Way to Pay LATAM Creators at Scale
If you are paying one creator, use Wise. If you are paying a roster across multiple countries every month, use a platform. Brands that try to scale direct payments past five or six creators almost always reverse course within two campaigns.
